With Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway’s unique setting, the ebb and flow of the River Shannon & Shannon Blueway is heard throughout the estate where magical forest treks, trails and fairy forts await to be explored. Meander through 5km of woodland walkways and wilderness where majestic trees, as well as the rolling hills & mountains of Leitrim and Roscommon can be seen.
Outside of the estate, our local area is made for exploring. With Leitrim’s unspoiled drumlin hills and picturesque country roads, it is a rural haven waiting to be discovered by those who cherish a slower pace of life and are looking to spend some quality time in the great outdoors.
The River Shannon & Shannon Blueway are both located only a stone’s throw from the entrance to the Estate. The Shannon Blueway will take you all the way to Drumshanbo alongside the canal, delight as you can watch boats navigate the loughs before finishing up on the floating boardwalk at Acres lake where you will find a large childrens playground, tennis courts, and an outdoor heated swimming pool which is open seasonally along with a selection of cafes & tea rooms a short distance further.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER LODGES
The ‘Birds of a Feather’ Lodges, exclusively located on Manor Avenue & Wilton Vaugh Road are luxurious in a traditional lodge style. There are a total of 5 lodges in this style, all named after birds common to the Estate.
Chaffinch, Hawks Haunt, Herons Nest, Pheasants Pen & Robins Rest are all beautifully designed with easy access to 5km of trails throughout the Estate. Prepare to be impressed when you choose to stay here.
Each lodge can sleep 6-8 people with bed configuration being flexible between a king bed or 2 single beds in each room while some of these lodges also incorporate adult bunk beds in 1 bedroom giving a sleeping capacity of 4 in that room. Please choose at the time of booking which configuration best suits your family or group.
