The Lodges at Glenlo Abbey Estate is a brand new development of luxury, self-catering holiday residences nestled within the 200 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds of the Glenlo Abbey Estate on the shores of Lough Corrib and only 5km from Galway city. Located just steps away from the main hotel building, the Lodges are surrounded by mature trees and beautifully landscaped grounds.
In all there are 11 Lodges set in pretty courtyards. Each Lodge has parking outside for your convenience and there are some EV charging points available on the Estate should you need them.
Staying in the Lodges offers the perfect combination of the privacy and comfort of your own home while still having access to the five star Glenlo Abbey Hotel’s amenities and facilities. This is a wonderful, warm, welcoming hotel which has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. Guests of the Lodges have use of most of the Hotel facilities including Palmers Bar & Restaurant, the unique Pullman Restaurant and the seasonal Oak Cellar Bistro (closed Nov-Feb inclusive).
THE LODGES
These bright, fresh, stylish Lodges have been designed to be elegant, tasteful and classic contemporary in style. The colour scheme heralds from an earthy palette in sympathy with its surroundings. The kitchens are really well equipped with everything you will need including electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer along with all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you will need during your stay. If you would prefer to dine out rather than cook in the Lodge, then there are lots of options locally both within the Hotel itself and in Galway city just two and a half miles away.
The sitting rooms are cosy and comfortable with an attractive electric fire set within a marble fireplace. Wifi is provided free of charge during your stay and HDMI connections are provided in the living rooms ideal for personal gaming.
There is a dining table to seat up to six people so you can sit down for a heart breakfast before heading out for a busy day of activities and sightseeing. There is private outdoor terrace, and you can avail of a barbeque on request for al fresco dining (available for rentals on a nightly basis).
Each of the Lodges has three bedrooms, all of which are ensuite. There are showers in two of the bathrooms and a bath in the other. There is one king sized bedroom on the first floor and the two bedrooms on the ground floor are zip and link so can be made up as a king sized bed or split into two single beds (please let us know your preferred bedroom set-up prior to your arrival). In addition, there is a guest toilet on the first floor.
It is important to note that in order to maximise the views and the aspect of these Lodges, they have been designed with the living areas upstairs. For families with young children, we can provide stairgates as well as bed rails, cots and highchairs.
Bathrobes and slippers are provided for your use during your stay in keeping with this five star Resort. In addition, complimentary artisan Irish toiletries are supplied. Energy charges have been included in your rate.

PETS
We have a limited number of pet-friendly Lodges available on a request basis only to accommodate one dog or one cat. Please note that you must mention at the time of booking that you will be bringing your pet so that a pet-friendly Lodge will be allocated to you. Pets are strictly forbidden on non-pet friendly Lodges. An additional charge of €50 euro must be paid on arrival should you book your pet to stay.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
You are welcome to check into your Lodge from 4pm on your day of arrival and check out is 10am on the morning of your departure. On arrival, a pre-authorisation charge of €500 will be applied to your credit card as a security deposit. This will be released on your departure providing the supervisor that there have been no breakages or damages to the Lodge during your stay.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The following cancellation policy applies to ALL bookings made through Dream Ireland specifically for the Lodges at Glenlo Abbey Estate. These are slightly different than our normal terms but they must be as follows:
1. a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to initially secure your booking. Under no circumstances will we be able to refund this deposit or hold in credit to be used against a stay on a future date
2. In event of full cancellation, the following charges will apply:
• Booking deposit is neither refundable nor transferable.
• Payment of the balance is due 6 weeks prior to your arrival date
• Cancellations within 6 weeks of arrival will be charged 100% cancellation rate - no refund

DINING OPTIONS
For a real treat, step back in time and dine aboard the Pullman Restaurant. This two AA Rosette Restaurant is one of the most unique dining experiences one can enjoy. Comprising of two original carriages from the Orient Express, beautifully restored and set on the grounds of the hotel. Enjoy the luxury and splendour of dining in true style and sit by the window seat and take in the spectacular views overlooking Glenlo Abbey Estate and Lough Corrib. Please be sure to book your table well in advance of your stay as availability is very limited at the Pullman Restaurant.
For a more relaxed and casual meal, Palmers Bar & Kitchen is a contemporary bar and lounge. Named after the Palmers, who bought Glenlo Abbey in 1897, this influential milling family made their home here for the next 90 years. Celebrating their legacy, Palmers Bar & Kitchen offers the very best in Irish hospitality.
The other option would be to dine at the Oak Cellar Bistro. Originally the kitchen in bygone days, this has been restored with warmth and character. It was part of the original house which is still the central core of the entire complex and dates back to 1740. The Oak Cellar Bistro closes seasonally from November to February inclusive.
GOLF
The unique Championship 9 Hole Golf Course is quickly becoming the best 9 holes in the country with rolling hills, lakes and fabulous views of Lough Corrib and it is the closest golf course to Galway City. The 21 Bay Driving Range is the ideal place to warm up before a round of golf but also for group and individual golf tuition.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
While archery and some of the best fishing in Western Europe are easily organised right on-site on the Estate. Other activities that can be arranged near the property include horse riding, boating, water sports and tennis with the ancient sport of royalty – falconry onsite.
