Our most popular Donegal Holiday Cottages would be at the wonderful Donegal Boardwalk Resort with lots of onsite facilities including two playgrounds, all weather courts, Hooked bar & restaurant and the 1100m wooden boardwalk which gives direct beach access. More traditional in style would be Donegal Thatched Cottages. We also have family friendly apartments in Bundoran. Another popular option are Downings Coastguard Cottages with wonderful sea-views.

There is so much to do in Donegal. Jaws Watersports provide a host of activities including surfing, windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. They have centres on both Dunfanaghy and Downings beaches. Bundoran is a world renowned surfing destination. Surf World located in the town offers a wide variety of water sports options. Scuba diving is another option. Lessons are available at Mevagh Dive Centre in Carrigart just a couple of miles from Donegal Boardwalk Resort.

The beaches in Donegal are pale and sandy and are some of the most beautiful in Ireland. Our favourites would be Downings, Tra Mor, Bundoran and Killahoey.

Donegal is home to some of the most stunning golf links courses in Ireland. Favourites would include including Rosapenna Golf Resort, Dunfanaghy Golf Club and Bundoran Golf Club.

Donegal has lots of options available if you would like to explore the county on horseback. Dunfanaghy Stables, Donegal Equestrian Centre and The Rosses Equestrian Centre in Dungloe offer treks along the countryside of Donegal.

There are many leisure centres with swimming pools available to the public. These include The Shandon Hotel in Dunfanaghy, the Letterkenny Aura Leisure Centre and Waterworld in Bundoran. You can use the facilities of these on a pay as you go basis.

Donegal has a rich and diverse history. You can find out more at one of the many interesting and informative heritage centres in the county. Great options include The Workhouse Famine and Heritage Centre and the Dunlewey Centre.

Your stay in Donegal would not be complete without a visit to Glenveagh National Park and Castle. This is a wonderful amenity on the shores of picturesque Lough Veagh. A climb up the lofty Mount Errigal Mountain would be a most memorable experience.

Malin Head is the most northerly point in Ireland and is the start of the Wild Atlantic Way driving route. This driving route follows the entire West Coast of Ireland for 2500km. Most recently Malin Head has headlined as a film shoot location for the latest Star Wars movie in May 2016.

Donegal is Ireland’s most North Western county. It is located approximately a 3 ½ hour drive from Dublin Airport or just 2 ½ hours from Belfast Airport.
