Description
This spacious holiday home has 4 bedrooms and can comfortably sleep up to 9 people. Recently refurbished, Number 1 has brand new carpets throughout and freshly painted walls. It is clean, bright and spacious and is in a great location to enjoy all that the wonderful town of Kenmare has to offer. An added bonus is that guests have free access to the swimming pool onsite at the Kenmare Bay Hotel. Electricity and heating charges are included in your rate and wifi is free to our guests.
Downstairs is a well fitted kitchen and dining area which opens into the living room area. The kitchen has everything you will need during your stay including dishwasher, two fridge/freezers, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and combined washer/dryer. It also has plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils and pans. The dining table can seat up to 6 people but there are extra chairs throughout the house should you need them. There is also a guest toilet downstairs.
The cosy sitting room has three couches and a welcoming open fire, large flat screen smart TV and stereo. A signed and framed Kerry jersey takes pride of place over the mantlepiece! The perfect place to relax and recover from a busy fun-filled day of exploring the region.
One of the bedrooms is downstairs and has a fully accessible wet room style bathroom with power shower and shower chair if required. There is also a large TV in this bedroom along with plenty of storage space.
The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and is ensuite with shower. The family room has both a double and single bed in it and it shares access to the main bathroom (with bath and electric shower over it) with the single bedroom. Should you require an extra bed or a cot and highchair these can be provided free of charge (please advise at time of booking).
Stairgates have been fitted to the top and the bottom of the stairs for additional security with little ones in the house. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
There is ample parking to the front of the house and a private gated garden to the rear which features a picnic table. This is a pet-friendly home so should you wish to bring along you beloved furry friend, they too will be welcomed (please note dog charge of €60 per dog will apply and is payable on arrival to the Caretaker. We respectfully request that your pet is kept to the tiled areas & not allowed upstairs. If you hope to bring more than one pet, please advise us at time of booking.
The back garden is fenced and fully enclosed to keep little ones and/or dogs safe. It is important to note that no place is ever 100% secure so supervision will still be required at all times.
IF YOU NEED MORE SPACE...
For larger families or groups, we also rent house Number 2 which is right next door. It has three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 7 people.

Guests staying in House Number 1 can use all the facilities of the Hotel's Health Club including:

KENMARE
The town of Kenmare is located on the Wild Atlantic Way and is known as the jewel in the Ring of Kerry. No wonder with its location between two of the most beautiful touring routes in Europe - the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. These make for very enjoyable day trips from Kenmare.
Kenmare is a designated Heritage Town of Ireland, and the town offers a huge selection of places of historical interest to visit. Even strolling around the town is itself a pleasure with Kenmare having received awards from Entente Floral and Tidy Towns. The town was also recently awarded the accolade of Ireland's best kept town on the whole island of Ireland and deservedly so! Killarney is a 40-minute drive and Cork City is just over an hour's drive.

The town of Kenmare, noted for having the cleanest air in Europe, is a mecca for some of the finest restaurants in Ireland. You really will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out, from bar food to seafood and a range of other types of excellent restaurants to experience. The nightlife in Kenmare suits all ages and the hospitality with which you will be greeted is second to none. There is a great selection of pubs and to choose from with many featuring live music from traditional Irish to rock and modern styles.

Kenmare Bay Cruises - Hop aboard the 'Island Explorer' for a family friendly cruise on Kenmare Bay with both indoor and outdoor seating. Watch seals and sea birds in their natural habitat and enjoy spectacular scenery, castles and coastlines along the way. Beaches - Kenmare lies approximately 30 minutes’ drive from a host of sandy beaches, and it has a very pretty harbour from where you can swim, fish or take a trip on the wildlife cruise.
Bike Hire - Bicycle hire is available from Finnegan's Bike Hire & Toy Shop in the centre of Kenmare. Another option would be to get in touch with Sidetracked Kenmare. You have the option to rent an eBike and take a self-guided tour or to take a guided tour and take in some of the Wild Atlantic Way’s most dramatic scenery.
Star Sailing & Adventure Centre - Star Activity and Adventure Centre is a purpose-built Activity Centre and Bar/Restaurant is fast becoming an essential part of a family holiday in Kenmare. The centre itself is situated on the shores of Kenmare Bay and surrounded by the Caha Mountains less than a ten-minute drive from Kenmare Town Centre. The activities on offer include kayaking, sailing, canoeing, sea kayaking, hillwalking, team games and a Wildlife Safari Cruise on Kenmare Bay. Bonane Heritage Park - The Bonane Heritage Park provides visitors with a 1600 metre walk on gravel paths through 5000 years of history while enjoying some breathtaking scenery. Bonane Heritage Park is situated 10Km from Kenmare on the N71 and is open to visitors all year round.
Golf - Kenmare boasts two super golf courses. The Ring of Kerry Golf Course is located two miles outside of the town and offers spectacular views of Kenmare Bay from the course itself and from its newly renovated Club House. Dream Ireland guests may avail of special discounted green fees. Kenmare Golf Club is located in Kenmare Town and follows the shores of Kenmare Bay Estuary.
Angling - There are lots of great fishing spots to choose from around Kenmare including Clonee Lake, Kenmare Bay and the Black Valley. Permits can be obtained locally.
Hill Walking - The Kerry Way and Beara Way walking routes are ideal for those with an interest in trekking or you could even join the annual summer hike to Ireland's highest mountain, Carrauntoohil. The foothills of the famous Macgillycuddy Reeks are right on Kenmare's doorstep.
