This is a gorgeous West Cork retreat ideal for a family. Less than a five minute stroll from the village of Union Hall and with wonderful views overlooking Glandore Harbour below.
Steward's House is the ideal family getaway. It is a lovely cosy yet modern home with three bedrooms to sleep up to 6 people. The living room area is open plan and comprises the kitchen and dining room. Sliding doors open into the sitting room so you can either seal that off in the evenings to make it more cosy or open it up so everyone can be included in what is going on in the house! There is a brand new wood burning stove in the sitting room along with a TV. Wifi is available free of charge during your stay.
The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you will need during your stay and the dining table can seat up to 8 people. This is a lovely sunny room perfect for relaxing and enjoying a meal after a long tiring day in the outdoors.
The two bathrooms are downstairs. Each has a shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Please note there is no bath in this house. There is a separate utility with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
The three bedrooms are upstairs and the views look out towards Glandore Harbour from up here. There is a master double bedroom, and a second double bedroom (up a couple of small steps). The third room is suitable only for young children as it has built in single bunk beds.
The garden is split into three levels. The lowest level is just outside the rear of the property and there is garden furniture here. Up on the second level is the main grassed area with fabulous views over Glandore Harbour below. The third level has some fruit trees.
LOCATION
The small port of Union Hall provides a safe shelter for the active fishing fleet as well as anchorage to pleasure boats, and calm water for skiing, diving and canoeing. The causeway leading into the village creates a natural lagoon and the sweep of homes and shops surrounding it lend a vision of brightly coloured ribbons on the water's surface. There are lots of beaches and places to swim in the sea very close by.
A five minute drive will bring you over to the lovely village of Glandore with some lovely places to sit out for a drink or a bite to eat.
Baltimore is about a 20-25 minute drive away and is another lovely place to visit and explore.
