Located just 3kms from Doonbeg village, Matthews Cottage is a traditional 3 bedroom
Downstairs is the sitting room with cosy wood burning stove and TV. There is also a dining area in this room with a table to seat up to 6 people. Free wifi is available to our guests during their stay.
The kitchen is equipped with all you should need during your stay. It comes with kettle, toaster, washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer and has all the crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils you need.
There are two double bedrooms downstairs and they share access to the main bathroom. The third bedroom is a single bedroom which is upstairs. All bed linen and towels are provided but we ask that you bring along your own towels to use at the beach.
The closest beach is White Strand beach and it is 2.5kms away but the best beach locally for surfing would be Doughmore beach.

A security deposit of €200 euro will be requested on arrival along with the energy charge of €10 per day. This must be paid in cash to the owner. Should your energy usage exceed a certain level (to be discussed with the owner directly), you will be charged accordingly.

The Burren - Clare’s biggest attraction it spans a great distance. You can walk and drive through the Burren, when driving there are many different attracts such as ringforts and a lighthouse on the side of a cliff ( these can be hard to see). When walking there are hiking, walking trails and guided walks. They also have a perfumery. 1h

Poulnabrone Dolmen – Located in the Burren it is 1h 3min it is situated out on its own but it as a car park and has regular visitors.
Caherconnell Stone Fort & Sheepdog Demonstration - the Fort is over 1000 years old and is a well preserved, it is also located in The Burren 1 hour
Cliffs of Moher – experience the beauty of the cliff from land and sea, the cliffs have a visitor centre and small gift shops and a place to eat, while you explore it has path ways and walls around cliffs for safe walking and viewing. There is O’Brien’s tower in the centre. You can also visit from Hags head and here holds Moher Tower -45 min
From Sea there are regular tours leaving from Doolin that offer a view from Bellow - 52 mins
Doolin Ferries – you can enjoy a view off the cliffs and books trips out to the Aran Islands 52 min
Loop head light house - is on the loop head peninsula with 90 metre high views of the sea down to Kerry head and Dingle across to the Shannon and Clare coast and to the cliffs of Moher in the north, there is also a big Eire sign on the ground made out of stones. 39 min
