Welcome to Atlantic Bay Rest. An authentic and rustic wooden bungalow right on the sea with private beach. Book it to stay at the edge of the world at one of the most beautiful spots on the Dingle Peninsula. If you are looking for a peaceful rest nestled in nature, this is it!
The bungalow was built 100 years ago then renovated in the 1990's the current owner. The main areas include a living and dining room, as well as a simple but functional kitchen with a fridge/freezer, an oven, a cooker, a sink, a dishwasher, and a microwave. There is central heating on a timer throughout the bungalow (except in the kitchen). Please note that this is an old building so it's chilly by nature year around. There is an open fire in the living room which extends into the dining room as it’s one huge room so the fire adds an element of cosiness to the room.
The hall to the bedrooms and bathroom starts from the living room. The Master (king size bed) and Honeymoon (double) rooms on the left have a garden and sea/mountain views. The bunk and twin rooms on the right have vegetation growing outside the windows and are often visited by small wild birds. There is just one bathroom inside of the house with a shower over bath but outside, there is a hot & cold water shower for those who dare to brave it!
Atlantic Bay Rest and all its buildings are located right on the sea and surrounded by nature. We recommend this accommodation especially to people who love nature and the outdoors. It's a great spot to hike, do water sports, disconnect and relax, read or even write books, be creative. It is wild, raw, rustic and unpolished but we are confident that you will love it if you are the right person.
Atlantic Bay Rest has a private beach and a private boat ramp and kayaks, which you are free to use in good sea conditions with our life jackets (compulsory). We also have a sauna atop the private beach that fits up to 4 people (minimum 2 hours notice needed for booking - extra fee). Please note that this is only an optional extra as we are not a spa but an accommodation with incredible views and nature.
IS ATLANTIC BAY REST BUNGALOW FOR YOU?
It really is very important for you to understand that this is a rustic property set in a spectalar location right on the edge of Ireland. If you are looking for a glamourous home, this is not for you. Atlantic Bay Rest appeals to people who love the outdoors and are ready to enjoy themselves regardless of the weather and to just get on with it and not go looking for things that are not perfect. The house will be spotless and will of course have fresh sheets and towels but it is an old house so there may be new spider webs that spring up during your stay! In addition, there is only one main bathroom to be shared among all 8 people staying however, you are welcome to enjoy the outside shower too during your stay (hot & cold water)!!
There is a common area called the Galley where people staying in the other properties onsite can also gather. This offers wonderful views and has a SMART TV so you can log into your own Netflix account and watch what you'd like (providing of course that you are not distrubing any other guests!)
THE SITE
It is important to note that there are other buildings on the site so you will not necessarily have solo use of it all. The Dream Suite is actually set atop the main Bungalow but it has its own entrance and is entirely separate to the Bungalow. Please be aware that there is a potential for noise communication between both spaces and we ask our guests to be respectful of each other. The Dream Suite is available for booking with the Bungalow, as well as our other accommodations for total privacy on the grounds (aside from staff) for bigger groups (family reunions or retreats). You can sleep up to 17/18 people. Please enquire with us direct and we can availability and get you the best price for your stay.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer that guests may use for a charge onsite. Please enquire directly on arrival.
PETS
We accept pets under certain strict rules (please enquire with us directly). There is an additional charge of €60 euro payable onsite if you are bringing your dog.

Maximum of 2 car spots allocated for Bungalow due to limited parking.
